What Are Small Groups?
The reality is that everyone hurts, everyone has a struggle. It doesn’t matter how nicely put together you look. It doesn’t matter whether your shoes match your purse. It doesn’t matter whether you’ve got a great house and a great car and a great job. It doesn’t really matter if all those things are in place because somewhere in your life there is a hurt, a need, a struggle.
Jesus didn’t say to His disciples, “I want you to be known for your fabulous preaching. I want you to be known for the great clothes you wear. I want you to be known for the beautiful temples that you build.” He said, “I want you to have a reputation in this world as people who love.” Part of the reason that Stony Brook exists is to help meet the hurts, the needs, and the struggles that people have, with love. And the main way we try to do this is through our community-based small groups.
Small groups are the heartbeat of at Stony Brook. They meet at various times during the week throughout the area. They are made up of people gather around the gospel from different backgrounds, age groups, special interests, and worship together, study together, pray together, and reach their communities with and for Christ. This is the place where you can be involved, where you will find people who know you, and where people care about you.
Small groups help us achieve all three of our church objectives: Love God. Love one another, Love the World. If you would like to join a small group you can indicate this on the cards in each week’s bulletin or by calling the church office at 204-346-9129
If you would like to join a small group you can indicate this on the blue card in each week’s bulletin or email our Small Groups Coordinator @ firstname.lastname@example.org
Leading a Small Group
Part of our vision here at Stony Brook Fellowship is to connect people together, which is done through our community-based small groups. We believe that it’s in small groups that lives are transformed and genuine relationships are formed. We are looking for passionate people who want to be part of this vision and lead a small group.
If you have an interest in leading a small group, please contact our Small Groups Coordinator @ email@example.com
